However, Now & Then also boasts a vintage mix for every song on the album, meaning they can be heard as they would have originally sounded in the 40s. The modern versions have been produced to a standard that would easily be at home on BBC Radio 2. As a result, Now & Then boasts 10 of the trio’s favourite songs from the World War Two era, including Three Little Sisters, Run Rabbit Run and Don’t Fence Me In. The Siren Sisters decided they wanted to release an album that would speak to fans of all ages. The album’s title also reflects the journey that the project has taken. Even the artwork has a personal story to it, as it was entirely designed by Cardiff-based artist, Alistair Watkins-Stuart of Slightly Wobbly Designs, who has become a good friend along the way. From being initially recorded in a small room in Pontypridd, the album was then mixed in Cardiff, before travelling to London to be mastered on a mixing desk formally owned by Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz. The journey of Now & Then has been an interesting one.
